Carved over weeks of making, the surface carries a sense of movement – each groove shaped to create depth and flow across the form.
Working from aged timber, the material is cut into planks and kiln-dried to stabilise it before being assembled into boards. Using traditional chiselling techniques, the surface is carved by hand, gradually building the pattern through repetition and precision.
Each section is sanded and stained in layers, allowing colour to settle deep within the grain before being sealed. The process unfolds over an extended period, resulting in a piece that balances structure with irregularity.
