PRODUCT CARE & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

All product instructions are provided as a general guide and may vary depending on the specific characteristics of your product. For personalised care advice, we recommend contacting info@theendpiece.com.au for further assistance.

TIMBER

Natural timber products have unique characteristics and features, such as varying colours, grains, and textures.

These natural characteristics respond to the environments in which they are placed. Accordingly timber can naturally crack or split over time. Such changes will not compromise the construction or structural integrity of the furniture. As we cannot control the environment in which you place your timber product, we cannot control or predict the changes you will see in your timber. To minimise movement in the timber, it is recommended that it should not be placed outside in direct sunlight, near fireplaces, or in heavily air-conditioned areas.

In order to care for the appearance of your timber product, we recommend avoiding direct contact with heat, liquid, and abrasive cleaners or chemicals. Also, avoid placing hot items like mugs or plates on the surface without coasters or placemats underneath, this will prevent marks and stains. Use a damp cloth to remove any dirt or dust.

In addition, timber products require maintenance or restoration from time to time, depending on how it is used and cared for.

Should you want to retain the original appearance of your timber item, a water-based sealer (clear matte finish) is recommended to be applied every 12 months.

FABRIC

To best care for fabric products we recommend vacuuming on a weekly basis to remove dust and dirt. We also recommend avoiding placement of fabrics in direct sunlight, as UV will cause fading and a change in colour may occur over time. We recommend treating any spills or marks immediately with the help of a qualified professional upholstery cleaner.

RATTAN & BAMBOO CARE

To clean any rattan furniture use a dry soft bristle brush.

Rattan can withstand moisture to a certain extent, but you should avoid excessive water coming into contact, as it may cause the rattan fibres to become limp or loose.

Like all natural materials, bamboo requires care from time to time to ensure its longevity. In order to care for the appearance of your bamboo, wipe off all spills immediately to reduce the risk of marks, and avoid using any abrasive cleaners or chemicals. After cleaning we recommended you apply a water based natural exterior wood oil.

Rattan and bamboo products are not intended for permanent outdoor use. To help care for your bamboo products, we recommend that pieces be covered under shelter and brought inside from rain and weather conditions.

LEATHER CARE

As leather is a natural material, wrinkles or small defects may appear, and slight discolouration can occur with exposure to direct sunlight or sources of heat.

To maintain your leather we suggest regularly removing dust with a soft and dry cloth. Do not use brushes as the bristles can damage the leather. A fresh spillage is always easier to clean than an old one, so attend immediately using soapy water, rinse and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Do not use detergents, abrasives, bleach or household cleaners.

NATURAL STONES

Our stone products are natural materials and can be of a porous nature. Each piece is unique, and has inherent qualities that will vary from piece to piece, including veining, tint, and density.

Our stone tops are porous by nature and can be easily stained, scratched or chipped if special care is not given. We suggest avoiding direct contact with heat, liquid, and abrasive cleaners or chemicals. Also, avoid placing hot items like mugs or plates on the surface without coasters or placemats underneath, this will prevent marks and stains being left on the stone.

To remove any dirt or dust we suggest dusting frequently with a soft, dry cloth. Wash periodically with a cloth dampened with warm water, and if necessary, a small amount of mild dishwashing liquid. Use a second damp cloth to remove the soap.

METAL CARE

The stainless steel used in TheEND collection is either polished or satin. Stainless will not rust, however it should never come into contact with salty water for extended periods of time, as this will cause the onset of rust.

To care for your stainless steel, make sure you use a soft cloth or micro fibre cloth with a glass cleaner product. Do not use any abrasive sponges, as they can leave light scratches on the stainless-steel finish.

RESIN & PLASTER

Resin & Plaster can be delicate and care should be taken on all surfaces and edges to avoid chipping or peeling of the finished surface. Each piece is unique, and has inherent qualities that will vary from piece to piece, including colour, texture and density.

To care for plaster finish, regularly dust or gently wipe over with a dry cloth, avoid moisture and harsh chemicals.

CEMENT & CONCRETE CARE

Our cement and concrete products contain natural materials and can be of a porous nature. Each piece is unique, and has inherent qualities that will vary from piece to piece, including colour, texture and density.

Spot clean with a wet, clean cloth or soft-bristled brush with a mild soap & water solution. Dry with a towel immediately.

Treat any spills immediately and avoid contact with acidic substances such as wine, coffee, olive oil etc which can damage the sealant. Wipe with a cloth damp with water & mild detergent.

Do not use harsh solvents or bleach-based cleaners and avoid letting water sit on the surface.

Do not place extremely hot items directly upon the surface, this can cause sealer discolouration and marking.

Prevent scratches and always use placemats and coasters, avoid dragging sharp or coarse objects across the surface.

Dust concrete regularly with a soft, dry cloth. When further cleaning is required, wipe overall with warm, soapy water. Follow up with a soft, dry cloth to remove excess moisture or streaks.

Avoid the use of furniture polishes.

Cement & Concrete is not immune to small chips and breakages particularly on exposed edges, if impacted with hard objects. Avoid high impact knocks especially along the edges. They are durable and strong but will give way if compressed, wedged or crushed.

POT PLANTS

Our concrete pots contain natural materials and can be of a porous nature. Each piece is unique, and has inherent qualities that will vary from piece to piece, including colour, texture and density.

All pots should be elevated on feet so that water can flow freely from the drainage holes and prevent water from ponding at the base. Care should be taken when selecting plants that are suitable for growing in pots and do not contain an invasive root system. We recommend using a good quality potting mix designed to drain freely

Spot clean with a wet, clean cloth or soft-bristled brush with a mild soap & water solution. Dry with a towel immediately.

Concrete is not immune to small chips, breakages and hairline cracks particularly on exposed edges, if impacted with hard objects. Avoid high impact knocks especially along the edges. They are durable and strong but will give way if compressed, wedged or crushed.
