Evocative design.
Imbued with the maker’s skilled touch, this dining table blends a smooth, tactile surface with a distinctive ripple edge. Crafted from century-old timber, gather around a piece of history and share stories. This is where traditions continue and evolve.
Timber is collected from 100-year-old logs, then cut into planks and kiln-dried for seven days to reduce the moisture content. After another two days of cooling, the planks are assembled into boards and chiselled around the perimeter, carving deep grooves along the table’s edge. The surface of the table’s centre remains smooth, sanded back to expose the natural woody grain and highlight the beauty of the material. A process of sanding and staining is repeated up to four times to create a layered finish. The sole responsibility of a single woodworker, this piece is crafted over the course of 12 weeks and is intended to pair with the Maui Coffee Table and Maui Mirror.
